A socio-cultural group, Igbo National Union-Worldwide, INU-W, a new organization emerging from the southeast region has blamed the political woes of the Southeast region on racism.
The group said that despite the enormous sacrifice made by Igbos towards the political independence of Nigeria from Britain, the race has been grossly maltreated and treated as second fiddle in the nation’s socio-political space.
It wondered why Igbo leaders are quiet over what it described as unmerited wickedness, hatred and marginalization coupled with persisting insecurity.
Speaking during a press conference in Aba, Abia State, the National Spokesperson of INU-W, Ngozi Ogbomor, said the group totally flayed the sheer marginalization of Ndigbo in sharing of positions within the political space of Nigeria despite noticeable inputs by the region.
He condemned the incessant security threats, especially the wanton killings, kidnappings, abductions and rape in Igbo land by criminal elements masquerading as herdsmen.
The spokesperson stressed that INU-W would help to find a solution to the insecurity in the region to enable the people go back to their farms to guarantee food security and sufficiency in the region, as well as strengthen sustainable peace, security, unity and development in Igbo land.
