UNIBEN Optometry Students Protest Over Delayed Induction And Accreditation (PHOTOS)


Optometry students of University of Benin (UNIBEN) converged in Mass to protest the loss of accreditation by the department and poor learning conditions. The protest started at the school main gate with the students cutting off vehicles movement in and out of the school premises leading to a massive traffic jam.

According to report gathered, they lost accreditation last year September/October and the institution is not doing anything about it. The students even paid endowment fees to help buy some equipment and to help fix the clinic but all efforts they made was not appreciated.

The complaint of the students are as follows;
No clinical instrument and lecture theatre
Delayed induction of graduated student
Inappropriate financial demands from student
Delayed accreditation of the department
